Autumn

unsure
of the horizon:

dusk-dried grapes, wine
flowing over cold shores.

Perhaps we trust fall:
bodies unsure of gravity,

landing in arms
constructed mirrors.

Dawn’s waking
is the rite–

summer turns
so restless in sleep.
